Ahly's first-choice goalkeeper keeper Mohamed El-Shenawi is ready to boost his team in Tuesday's match against Uganda's Kampala City, the club announced on Saturday.
"El-Shenawi has recovered from his injury and will rejoin his teammates in the trainings starting Saturday," Ahly's assistant coach Mohamed Youssef told the club's official website.
The Reds, who have already secured their place at the quarterfinals, will be hosting the Ugandan team in the final round of the CAF Champions League group stage.
El-Shenawi missed Ahly's 2-0 league victory over Haras El-Hodoud on Friday due to a muscle injury that he picked up in the previous match against Wadi Degla.
Right-back Ahmed Fathi, attacking midfielder Mido Gaber and forward Phakamani Mahlambi also missed the El-Hodoud game for fitness issues, but they all will be available for Tuesday's match, according to Youusef.
Left-back Ayman Ashraf and midfielder Ahmed Hamoudi are due to undergo medical scans on Saturday after picking up different knocks to depart the pitch in the victory over El-Hodoud.
The record eight-time Champions League winners Ahly, who missed out on a ninth triumph after losing to Morocco's Wydad in last year's final, are joint leaders with Esperance with 10 points, seven clear of Uganda's Kampala City and Botswana's Township Rollers, who only have two matches to play.
Ahly only need a win in their last match at home against Kampala to advance as the group winners, given their superior head-to-head record over Esperance after they played out a 0-0 draw in Alexandria in their opening group-stage clash.
