Brazilian star Keno proved to be the match winner for Pyramids FC again as he scored the winner against Arab Contractors 1-0 on Monday to send his team to the top of the Egyptian Premier League table.
The former Palmeiras winger produced another sublime solo effort, ghosting into the area and firing a left-footed shot that was deflected by a defender to drop at the far post in the 64th minute of the game.
A well-deserved goal as the visitors dominated the game in terms of possession and chances as they could have grabbed a few more goals included a first-half shot that crashed off the bar this is while their keeper El-Mahdi Soliman was rarely tested throughout the game.
Pyramids FC finished the game with 10-men on the pitch as international defender Ali Gabr was sent off in the 80th minute after receiving his second yellow card in 10 minutes.
But in the end Keno’s goal proved to be the winner that put Pyramids FC at the top with 15 points two ahead of second-placed Zamalek who have a game in hand.
The 29-year old Brazilian, who has been hired in July for an Egyptian record fee of $10 million, proved to be his team’s deadliest weapon so far.
Keno has been involved in six goals for his team’s seven games scoring six and assisting two.
He came at the rescue of Pyramids FC against El-Gouna 1-1 last week scoring a 95th minute equalizer to spare his side their first defeat of the season.
