Masry ease pressure on coach Talaat Youssef with a second consecutive Egyptian Premier League win

Masry

Two goals from Eliassou Issiaka and Abdoulaye Cisse gave Masry a 2-0 Egyptian Premier League victory over Ittihad of Alexandria on Tuesday.

Burkinabe Striker Cisse opened the scoring after 10 minutes to take his tally to six league goals so far this season.

Malian central defender Issiaka wrapped up the victory on the hour mark as Masry gave beleaguered coach Talaat Youssef a much-needed lift.

Ittihad had to play with ten men for around 24 minutes after playmaker Mahmoud Samir was sent off. Masry finished with nine men following the late dismissals of midfielders Momen Zakaria and Ayman Saied.

Promising tactician Youssef, who took over at the club last summer following a highly-successful stint with Ittihad El-Shorta, was criticised lately following some disappointing results for Masry.

The Port Said-based club’s second successive win moves them to seventh place in the league table with 19 points. Ittihad are tenth on 15 points.
