Ayman Hefni and Mahmoud Abdel-Aziz came off the bench to fire Zamalek to Egypt Cup quarters after defeating El-Entag El-Harby 2-0 in the Egypt Cup round of 16 on Tuesday.
The White Knights - who squandered a host of scoring opportunities during regular time including clear cut chances for winger Mahmoud Kahraba - scored twice in extra-time.
Substitute Ayman Hefny who replaced Ibrahim Hassan was fouled in the area allowing specialist and the team top scorer Mahmoud Alaa to score from the spot.
Mahmoud Abdel-Aziz, who came in in extra-time for Tunisian midfielder Ferjani Sassi, added the second after his deflected shot from inside the box tricked the keeper.
The Defending champions will face the winner of Maqassa clash against Wadi Degla in the competition's quarter.
