Eight-time African champions Ahly arrived in Tunisia on Tuesday morning, ahead of Friday’s anticipated clash against Esperance in the second leg of the CAF Champions League final in Rades.
Key striker Walid Azaro was left behind due to a two-match ban by the CAF Disciplinary Board for his un-sportsmanlike behaviour in Ahly’s 3-1 victory in the first leg.
Video showed the Moroccan striker tearing up his own jersey, in an attempt to convince game official Mehdi Abid Charef to give Ahly a penalty kick.
The Cairo giants will be also missing veteran right-back Ahmed Fathi, who picked up a muscular injury that forced him off the first leg in minute 22.
Esperance will need to score twice and keep a clean sheet if they want to clinch their third title of the prestigious competition.
