Egyptian side Ittihad of Alexandria will have a mountain to climb in the Zayed Cup when they face Saudi Giants Al-Hilal in the competition's quarter-finals.

The Alexandria-based side have stunned holders Esperance de Tunis in the round of 32 before creating another surprise in the round of 16 when they defeated Zamalek 4-3 on penalties.

Al-Hilal are one of the heavy weights in the region with their excellent squad, which includes many international players from different countries.

They are leading the Saudi league table with 32 points, three points ahead of second-placed Nasr, while Ittihad of Alexandria are ninth in the Egyptian league with 20 points, 15 points behind leaders Zamalek, who still have three matches on their hands.

The first leg will be played in Alexandria next February, and the second leg will take place in Saudi Arabia.

The draw held in Abu Dhabi on Monday gave Ahly Djeddah an easy draw against UAE side Al-Wasl.

Moroccan side Raja will face Etoile Sportive du Sahel in a North African derby, while Mouloudia Alger will take on Sudanese side El-Merreikh.

The Zayed Club Champions Cup is the most financially rewarding in the region, with the champions awarded $6 million.
