Egyptian Premier League leaders Zamalek made their second winter acquisition after signing winger Ahmed Sayed, commonly known as Zizo, from Portugal's Moreirense, the Cairo club said on Friday.

Zamalek said on their website that Zizo has joined on a three-and-a-half year deal, without disclosing any financial details.

The 23-year-old came through the youth ranks of Egypt's Wadi Degla before moving to Belgian side Lierse in the summer of 2013, where he scored five goals and provided 10 assists in 77 appearances.

He then joined Portugal's Nacional in a brief loan spell before moving to Moreirense in the summer of 2017. However, he hardly made an impact, scoring only twice in 31 games.

Zizo has not played since April 2018 after failing to obtain an entry visa to Portugal, he said in a recent television interview.

Zamalek have also signed Morocco striker Khalid Boutaib from Turkey's Yeni Malatyaspor earlier this month. He made his debut on Thursday after coming on as a late substitute in a thrilling 3-3 league draw with Pyramids FC.

The White Knights, who are seeking to win the title for the first time since 2015, top the table with 42 points from 17 games, three ahead of second-placed Pyramids who played 20 matches.
