Coach Jose Maqueda has reversed his decision to quit Ittihad after the team’s board decided to meet his demands regarding financial issues.

Ittihad's recent performance on the field has been negatively affected owing to a shortage of players due to several recent injuries and suspensions.

The club lost its third successive match on Thursday against Beni Sueif Telephones to fall to 12th place in the league table with 15 points, 21 behind leaders Harras El-Hodoud.

The 43-year-old coach abruptly announced his departure after the club's management decided not to sign any new players in the current transfer window. After a few days of negotiations, however, he was persuaded to stay on.

Former Real Madrid player Maqueda arrived at the Alex-based club last summer after signing a one-year contract, leading the team to a particularly strong performance this season.
