Zamalek coach Hassan Shehata announced on Thursday his 20-man squad for Friday’s scheduled clash with ENPPI at the Arab Contractors Stadium.
The list includes Zamalek’s newly-signed Cameroonian midfielder, Alexis Mendomo, who joined the White Knights recently from Tunisian side Club Africain.
The 26-year-old midfielder could make his debut with the club in Friday’s clash, especially in the absence of Zamalek defensive midfielder Ibrahim Salah, who received a red card during Zamalek’s victory over Daqhaliya last week.
Islam Awad and Nour El-Sayed, who also joined Zamalek in January, maintained their places in the team’s squad for the second successive game.
Zamalek’s international striker, Amr Zaki, maintained his absence despite his return to training last Friday.
Zaki had missed two months of training after filing a complaint against the club in which he requested termination of his contract with Zamalek after the team failed to fulfill their financial obligations to him.
Zamalek are looking beyond ENPPI to advance in the Egyptian League and avenge themselves for their Egypt Cup defeat last October.
Zamalek are currently third in the league table with 34 points, two points behind leaders Harras El-Hodoud.
The squad:
Goalkeepers: Abdel Wahed El-Sayed, Mahmoud Abdel-Rehim
Defenders: Mahmoud Fathallah, Hani Saied, Salah Soliman, Mohamed Abdel-Shafy, Sabry Rahil, Ahmed Samir, Karim El-Hassan, Omar Gaber.
Midfielders: Ahmed Tawfik, Ahmed Hassan, Saied Mohamed, Mahmoud Abdel-Razek “Shikabala”, Mohamed Ibrahim, Eslam Awad, Nour El-Sayed, Alexis Mendomo
