Ahly attacking midfielder Dominique Da Silva is out of Wednesday's match against Masry – round 17 of the Egyptian Premier League season – due to a muscle injury, and winger Walid Soliman is a doubt with a minor knock.

Dominique and Soliman were substituted during the second half of Ahly's 2-1 win over Arab Contractors on Saturday after picking up injuries.

“The heavy match schedule has led to more injuries among the squad,” Ahly football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz told Ahram Online.

“Dominique and Soliman will undergo scans to determine the seriousness of their injuries and the estimated time of their absence,” he added.

The Ahly squad will be boosted by the return of striker Emad Meteb and attacking midfielder Mohamed Barakat who have been cleared to play in Wednesday’s game against Masry after both recovered from injuries.

Ahly are in the league driving seat with 36 points, two ahead of surprise package Haras El-Hodoud who can regain their position at the top if they beat Ittihad of Alexandria in a rescheduled game on Tuesday.
