Ahly winger Ramadan Sobhi has praised the team's training camp taking place in Spain to prepare the team for the last two rounds of the Egyptian Premier League, which will be resumed after the end of the Africa Cup of Nations as well as the new season games.
"Ahly's camp in Spain is world class, and the club's management provided everything. The whole team is concentrating ahead of the Zamalek and Arab Contractors games, seeking victory in order to win the EPL title," the former Stoke City winger told Ahly's official channel.
The 22-year-old forward was not among those summoned to play in the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt, which angered Pharaohs' supporters and local football critics.
"I hoped to be with the national team in the Africa Cup of Nations, I announced my support for the players and the technical staff.
"Excluding me from the squad list does not mean that I don't support the coach, my exclusion is a technical point of view and I respect it. Egypt will come back stronger and achieve what the pleases the fans," the player said.
Sobhi, who came through the youth ranks of Ahly and made his senior team debut in February 2014, was seen as one of the hottest prospects in Egyptian football and started his European journey in 2016 at Stoke City after winning two Egyptian Premier League titles and a CAF Confederation Cup trophy.
Ahly have extended Ramadan Sobhi's loan deal from PL's Huddersfield Town for one more season to keep hold of one of their prized assets as they bid for a fourth straight Egyptian Premier league title.
"I was raised in Ahly since I was eight. I'm an Ahly fan and this is known well to everyone. I have been looking forward to staying with Ahly for another season, so has the club's board which has shown interest in my stay," Ahly's key player revealed.
The in-form forward made 46 PL appearances with Stoke City in two seasons, scoring three goals and creating three others before leaving the club after it was relegated to the second division to join Huddersfield.
He failed to settle in, however, and made only four appearances in the 2018-2019 season before returning to Ahly.
