Zamalek claimed their second straight win this season after defeating Maqassa 1-0 in a league game at Al-Salam stadium on Thursday.

Winger Ahmed 'Zizo' El-Sayed scored the winner, five minutes before the hour-mark, giving his side a precious win.

Zamalek joined Pyramids FC and Ahly in the league summit as the trio collected six points so far.

The first half was boring as Zamalek were not capable to create any goal-scoring chances during the first 45 minutes of the game, while Maqassa players were satisfied with their organised defense.

Ten minutes after the break, Zizo ran 30 yards before side-footing a low shot from outside the area, scoring the only goal in this nervy game.

After Zamalek's goal Maqassa coach Ahmed 'Mido' Hossam introduced attacking midfielder Mohamed Ibrahim and striker Salah Amin to intensify his attack but the duo fails to make their presence felt.

In injury time substitute Mahmoud Abdel-Aziz picked-up a serious injury and he failed to complete the last eight minutes, as Zamalek played with ten players only.

After the game referee Mohamed Adel  gave Zamalek defensive midfielder Tarek Hamed a second yellow card after clashing with Maqassa skipper Hosni Fathi.

Hamed will miss Zamalek upcoming league clash against FC Masr set to be played on Sunday.
