An injury time winner from Mohamed Sherif earned Enppi a stunning 2-1 victory against Zamalek on Monday to claim their first victory of the season and move away from the bottom of the table.

Enppi had a blistering start of the game as Mohamed Bassiouni broke the deadlock after just 23 seconds but the Whites managed to level the score before the break courtesy to a penalty kick from Mahmoud Alaa before conceding in the 91st minute in a bad-tempered game that saw 11 yellow cards.

Enppi jumped to 15th place of the table with four points after six rounds while Zamalek are fourth with 10 points.

Zamalek's Serbian coach Micho seemed one more time undecided over his formation and line-up as he was forced to make several changes due to injuries and suspensions.

In the first action of the game, Bassiouni made no mistake after picking up a rebound following a powerful shot that crashed off the post.

The Whites rearranged their lines quickly after that early stunner and the defence managed to contain some threats from Enppi.

In the 41st minute Moroccan winger Mohamed Ounajem broke in the area and was brought down allowing specialist Mahmoud Alaa to score the equaliser from the penalty kick.

After the interval, Zamalek failed to up their game despite the several changes made by Micho who brought in veteran winger Mahmoud "Shikabala" Abdel-Razek and the trickster attacking midfielder Karim Bambo.

The Whites pushed forward and could have scored when Mahmoud El-Wensh's header was denied by the bar.

However, they left acres of spaces at the back and it cost them heavily. Sherif went clear on goal to easily slot home the winner past keeper Mohamed Awaad.
