Ahly ‘not worried’ about key defender Rami Rabia's injury, says club doctor

Ahly’s technical staff are not worried about the injury sustained by key defender Rami Rabia, and the player will undergo medical tests on Saturday morning, the club's doctor Khaled Mahmoud said.

The 26-year-old was substituted off in the 65th minute during Ahly's 1-0 win over Ismaily in the Egyptian Premier League on Thursday after sustaining the injury.

"Ahly's doctor confirmed that Rabia's injury doesn't worry the medical staff," read a statement on Ahly's official website.

"He will undergo medical tests ahead of Saturday's training session to determine the seriousness of injury as well as his situation in terms of taking part in the training," Ahly's doctor was quoted as saying on the club's official website on Friday.

Ahly are preparing to face Ittihad of Alexandria on the tenth matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Monday.

The Egyptian Premier League titleholders, Ahly are currently at the top of the league table on full marks of 21 points after wins in their seven games so far this season.
