Egyptian Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah and Zamalek midfielder Tarek Hamed have been included in Confederation of African Football (CAF) shortlist of nominees for the 28th edition of its annual football awards.
The 31-year-old Hamed is competing in the African Interclubs Player of the Year award while Liverpool's Salah vies for the senior African Player of the Year award.
The CAF said in a statement Sunday that the winners will be revealed 7 January at the Citadel Azure in Hurghada, Egypt.
The CAF awards is annual event to celebrate African footballers and officials who have distinguished themselves during the year.
"The Interclubs Player of the Year will be decided upon by the head coaches and captains of the group phase of the current season of CAF Interclubs competitions," read a statement on the official CAF website.
