Etoile Sportive du Sahel’s attacking duo Yassine Chikhaoui and  Souleymane Coulibaly will not be available for the match against Ahly due to injury, the Tunisian side announced on Thursday.

Ahly will host Etoile on Sunday in a Champions League game at El-Salam stadium.

Etoile are leading the group on nine points, two ahead of second-placed Ahly.

Both sides are hoping for a quarter-finals berth.

Chikhaoui scored the only goal in Etoile's 1-0 win over Ahly in the group opener in November, while Coulibaly, who is a former Ahly player, made his debut with Etoile when they defeated Sudanese side Al-Hilal earlier this month.

The Ivorian striker joined Ahly in January 2017 on a three-and-a-half-year deal, and has produced many fine displays with club; however, he left five months later, explaining his acrimonious exit by saying that he had received "slave treatment" at the club.

Ahly lodged a complaint with FIFA and Coulibaly was ordered to pay $1,400,000 by the world football governing body, who decided later to suspend the player for failing to fulfill his financial dues toward Ahly.

Coulibaly signed later a contract with Etoile Sportive du Sahel, who reached a final settlement with the Cairo giants concerning the fine, and the 25-year-old became eligible to play with the club.
