Egypt's Wadi Degla sign Dutch winger Antwi on loan with option to buy
Egyptian Premier League side Wadi Degla announced Friday that they have completed the signing of Dutch winger Rodney Antwi on loan from Bulgarian team FC Tsarsko Selo, with an option for permanent transfer.
"Wadi Degla’s signing of a Dutch player will be a surprise for the Egyptian Premier League," the club's vice-president Nadim Maged Sami told reporters after the team's 1-1 draw with Zamalek earlier this week.
The 24-year-old winger, whose family has Ghanaian roots, played 18 games with FC Tsarsko Selo in the Bulgarian League, scoring nine goals.
"Wadi Degla is not the only team interested in signing Antwi," FC Tsarsko Selo football manager Evo Andrievski was quoted as saying on his club's official website.
"We wish the player good luck in Egypt and hope he will have a superb performance there."
Wadi Degla are in the 13th place in the Egyptian Premier League table on 14 points, after playing 15 games so far this season.
