Egyptian Football Association (EFA) executive director Walid Al-Atar has announced that the new season of the Egyptian Premier League will start by the end of November, confirming that remaining games of the Egyptian Cup will be played soon.

"The last game of the ongoing Egyptian Premier League season will be played in the last week of October," Al-Atar told a television programme late Saturday.

"The new season will start by the end of November while the remaining games of the Egypt Cup will be played between the end of the ongoing season and the new one," Al-Atar added.

Ahly wrapped up their record-extending 42nd Egyptian Premier League title this season with six rounds left after gaining an unassailable 20-point lead over second-placed Pyramids FC.

Early last week, EFA set dates for the summer transfer window, which will run from 10 October to 4 November, a few months later than usual after the league was suspended for five months due to the coronavirus pandemic.
