CAF name Zambian referee Sikazwe to officiate Ahly vs. Wydad in Champions League semi-final

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) have announced that Zambian referee crew - headed by Janny Sikazwe - are to officiate the first leg of the Champions League semi-final game between Morocco's Wydad de Casablanca and Egypt's Ahly on Saturday. 

Wydad are scheduled to host Ahly at the Mohammed V stadium on Saturday at 21:00 Cairo local time (GMT +2), with the second leg match taking place on 23, October at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab stadium.

The 41-year-old, Sikazwe officiated three games for Ahly in the continental tournaments including the CAF Champions League semi-final game of the 2013 edition of the tournament against Cameroonian side Coton Sport that ended with a victory for the Red Devils after penalty kicks.

The Cairo giants, Ahly are bidding for their 9th Champions League title and the first since they claimed the tournament's trophy in 2013, while Wydad who won the 2017 edition are bidding for their third title.
