Despite Raja's 1-0 loss at home to Zamalek in the first leg of the African Champions League semis, coach Jamal Sellami is adamant his side can overturn the deficit and beat the five-time champions in Cairo.

Zamalek will host the Moroccan side in the second leg of the last-four clash on Wednesday, with a straightforward task to protect their advantage.

"Zamalek is a tough opponent but we will score in Egypt and we will beat them," Sellami told a Moroccan radio station on Sunday.

"I promise our fans that we will perform well and reach the final."

Sellami said he is aware his task won't be easy but that he has the utmost confidence in Raja players.

"I know that the game will be tough for us but we are ready for all challenges," he added.

"My team is not fit physically fit in comparison with Zamalek but I have many experienced players who are capable of making the difference in any moment during the game."

Raja haven't played any game since losing the first leg on 18 October, when Zamalek's Moroccan winger Achraf Bencharki headed home the winner in the first half at an empty Mohamed V Stadium in Casablanca.

The second leg was initially scheduled for 24 October but the Confederation of African Football (CAF) postponed the game to 1 November after more than a dozen Raja players had tested positive for COVID-19.

CAF pushed back the match again upon the request of Egyptian authorities, setting Wednesday, 4 November as a new date.

The winner of Wednesday's clash will face Ahly in the final at Alexandria's Borg El-Arab stadium on 27 November.
