The Egypt Cup semifinals will be played on 1 December while the final will be played four days later at Cairo’s international stadium, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced on Monday.
“The Egypt Cup final will be played at 8 pm on 5 December at Cairo’s international stadium,” reads a statement by the EFA.
“The first semi-final match between Talae El-Gaish and the winner of the Zamalek and FC Masr game will be at 5pm at Alexandria’s Borg El-Arab stadium, while Ittihad of Alexandria will be facing the winner between Ahly and Abu Qir FC in the second match at 8 pm at Suez’s new stadium,” the statement added.
On 5 November, the EFA announced that the remaining games of the Egypt Cup quarterfinals will be played on 21 November.
Ahly will face Abu Qir FC, while holders Zamalek will play FC Masr, only six days before the Cairo giants face off in the CAF Champions League final game.
Ahly booked their place in the Egypt Cup quarterfinals after beating Tersana 2-1 in the last 16, while Zamalek defeated Smouha 2-1 in the same round.
Talae El-Gaish and Ittihad of Alexandria booked their places in the semifinals after beating Pyramids FC and Arab Contractors respectively last month, while the Ahly and Zamalek games were postponed due to their participation in the CAF Champions League.
