Ahly are set to face Wadi Degla in the 5th matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Friday, as the Red Devils bid to retain the table's lead by beating their visitors, who have lost five points since the start of the season.

The two sides are expected to put on quite the show, as Wadi Degla, who are famed for their fast football, will do their best to snatch the game's points to climb up the table’s rankings.

"The game against Degla will be a special one, as the opponents play fast football and they are a well organised team, so the game is expected to be difficult for Ahly," Ahly's assistant coach Sami Komsan told a television programme on Wednesday.

Ahly are favoured to maintain their winning start with victories over Maqassa, Ghazl El-Mahalla, and Ittihad of Alexandria.

The Cairo giants will do without Winger Mahmoud “Kahraba” Abdel-Moneim, Striker Marawan Mohsen, Midfielder Akram Tawfik, and Left Back Mohamed Hani in this bout, given the players have tested positive for COVID-19.

Talented Winger Mohamed 'Afsha' Magdi will continue missing Ahly's squad, as he still testing positive for COVID-19, since he missed the last two games due to the infection.

Ahly have collected nine points from the previous three games in the league, claiming second place on the teams' table, while Degla are in 11th place with only four points.
