Zamalek Portuguese coach Jaime Pacheco said that while he is "satisfied" with his team’s performance in the Champions League match against Algerian side MC Alger on Friday, "he is not happy with the result."
The Cairo giants dropped their first two points in the first round match in their group after being held to a scoreless draw by Algeria’s MC Alger last night.
Both sides now have one point in Group D, which includes Tunisia’s Esperance and Senegal’s Teungueth FC.
“It was a strong game between two big teams. We had many scoring chances but we didn’t make the best use of them,” Pacheco said in the press conference after the match.
The Whites could not capitalize on their overall domination during 90 minutes, wasting several easy scoring chances, while the visitors failed to register any shots on target.
“We are still in the tournament's beginning and we played well, so we must look forward and work to improve the performance in the future. For sure, the best is yet to come,” the coach added.
Zamalek are set to fly to Senegal next week in order to face Teungueth FC on 23 February in the second round of the group stage.
