Ahly’s efficient defender Ayman Ashraf has been cleared fit for the game against Simba of Tanzania after recovering from an injury, meanwhile trio Ali Maaloul, Salah Mohsen and Taher Mohamed Taher missed the trip for the African Champions League encounter, the club announced.

The Cairo giants arrived in Tanzania early Saturday to face Simba S.C. in the second round of the Group A games of the CAF Champions League that are to take place next Tuesday at the National Stadium.

"Ayman Ashraf joined Saturday's training session within preparations for the game against Simba after recovering from a muscle injury and he is fit for the game," Ahly's doctor Ahmed Abou Abla said on the club's official website.

Ahly missed the services of several key players including defender Ayman Ashraf, left back Ali Maaloul, striker Salah Mohsen and winger Taher Mohamed Taher during the home 3-0 win over Sudan’s Al-Merrikh in the first round of the group stage games last week due to injuries.

The trio key-players suffered from muscle injuries after participating with Red Devils in the FIFA Club World Cup when the team claimed the bronze medal.

African Champions League title holders Ahly are in the driving seat of Group A with three points, sharing the same points with group's opponents Simba who defeated Vita Club of DR Congo 1-0 away from home last week.
