Ahly is ready and fully focused on beating rivals Vita Club of the DR Congo on Tuesday, according to the team’s football director Sayed Abdel-Hafiz.

The Reds’ trio winger Taher Mohamed Taher, midfielder Amr El-Sulaya, and right-back Mohamed Hani were declared ready for the anticipated match against the Congolese side in the 4th round of the African Champions League’s group stage tomorrow.

“The team is ready for the Vita Club match. We are fully focused and serious about winning,” Abdel-Hafiz was quoted as saying by Ahly’s official website on Monday.

“We traveled to the DR Congo with no other choice but to win the game. We have full confidence in our players and their abilities and experiences to handle such difficult situations,” he added.

Ahly must beat Vita Club in Kinshasa to secure a place in the prestigious tournament's quarterfinals, after the disappointing 2-2 draw at Cairo International Stadium in the 3rd round of the Group A games last week.

Ahly are currently in third place in Group A, sharing the same four points with Vita Club, who are in second place, after both teams played three games in the group stage so far.

Meanwhile, Tanzanian side Simba S.C are in the driving seat of Group A with 7 points, while Al-Merrikh of Sudan are in the tail with only one point.

“Everything is stable here. Everyone is doing their best to return to Cairo with the match’s three points,” the football director added.

“The trio are ready for Tuesday’s game and will be available for Monday’s training,” the team's doctor, Ahmed Abul Ela, explained.

Taher had suffered from a bruised ankle; El-Sulaya complained of fatigue, while Hani was knocked in the face in Sunday’s training session.

But, Ahly will still have to do in the game Tuesday without influential left-back Ali Maaloul, who is facing up to three more weeks on the sidelines after aggravating a hamstring injury sustained last month.
