Zamalek players test negative for COVID-19, Ahly lose veteran keeper in Cairo derby

Zamalek will host Ahly at Cairo international stadium late on Sunday for postponed fourth matchday in Egyptian Premier League

All Zamalek's players have tested negative for COVID-19 after undergoing rapid blood tests ahead of the Cairo derby showdown against Ahly, Sunday's game will be missing veteran goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawy  at this stage of the Egyptian Premier League.

 
Zamalek will host Ahly at Cairo international stadium late on Sunday for the postponed game from the fourth  matchday of the Egyptian Premier League.
 
"All the players tested negative for COVID-19 after undergoing rapid tests ahead of the game against Ahly," Zamalek's Doctor Mohamed Osama was quoted as saying on Zamalek's official website.
 
Meanwhile, Ahly veteran goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawy continues to miss matches due to him testing positive for COVID-19 as he underwent a PCR test late on Friday.
 
Ahly will also continue without a number of their talented players, including: Tunisian left back Ali Maaloul, right back Mohamed Hani, winger Junior Ajayi and midfielder Hamdi Fathi, due to injuries.
 
Zamalek are in the driving seat for the Egyptian Premier League teams table with 33 points after playing 14 games so far this season, six points over title holders Ahly who played three games less than their rivals.
