18:30  Zamalek are in the driving seat for the Egyptian Premier League teams table with 33 points after playing 14 games so far this season, six points over title holders Ahly who played three games less than their rivals.

17:30 All Zamalek's players have tested negative for COVID-19 after undergoing rapid blood tests ahead of the Cairo derby showdown against Ahly.

16:30 Ahly will do without number of their key-players including veteran goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawy who tested positive for COVID-19, Tunisian left back Ali Maaloul, right back Mohamed Hani, winger Junior Ajayi and midfielder Hamdi Fathi, due to injuries.

14:00 Egyptian referee Mahmoud El-Banna will take charge of Sunday's Cairo derby for the first time in three years as the country's football federation turned down requests from Ahly and Zamalek to bring in a foreign official.

13:45 Zamalek's elimination left them with only the league as the major honour to fight for and they will be eager to underline their improvement under Patrice Carteron with a much-needed victory over Ahly.
