After losing for the first time in the Egyptian Premier League this season in the game against Smouha on Wednesday, Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane stressed that his side should accept the defeat, saying the team was suffering from the absence of key players as well as fatigue.
Ahly was stunned on Wednesday with a loss as they conceded a last-gasp goal in a 2-1 defeat to a lively Smouha after a rare blunder by veteran goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawi.
“We made more mistakes during the game. We did not have enough energy to play today’s match,” said Mosimane in the post game’s press conference.
“We made more effort in the previous games. We did not have enough power. Our last game was played only two and a half days ago. We lost the services of a number of our key-players due to injuries,” the Ahly coach added.
Ahly are second in the Egyptian premier League table with 30 points, three points behind temporary leaders Zamalek, as the Red Devils need to win two games to overtake their rivals.
