Egyptian Premier League side Ceramica Cleopatra announced on Thursday that they part ways with the team's coach Haitham Shaaban after elimination from the 16th round of Egypt Cup.

Ceramica Cleopatra failed to reach the quarterfinals of Egypt Cup after losing 2-1 to Maqassa on Tuesday.

Egyptian coach Shaaban led Ceramica Cleopatra, who were established in 2006, to qualify for the Egyptian Premier League current season.

"We thank coach Haitham Shaaban and his assistants for the time they spent with the team as well as the achievements they made while leading the team in all competitions," Ceramica Cleopatra management said in a statement.

Under the leadership of coach Shaaban, Ceramica Cleopatra FC lie 8th in the Egyptian Premier League table with 25 points after playing 18 games this season. They claimed the victory in six games, drew in seven and lost five matches in the league.

Ceramica Cleopatra FC had spent big in the close season as they looked to quickly make their mark in the league by landing 14 veteran players.

These included several footballers who previously played for Cairo's famed duo Ahly and Zamalek, such as playmakers Mohamed Ibrahim and Saleh Gomaa, as well as winger Mido Gaber.
