Thirteen coronavirus cases, eight players and five officials, were detected at the Egyptian Premier League club Pyramids FC after returning from their Nigeria trip , the club's Football Director Hani Said announced.
Pyramids FC booked their place in the African Confederation Cup semi-finals after holding Nigeria's Enyimba to a 1-1 draw, completing a comfortable 5-2 aggregate victory.
"There were no precautionary measures when we left Nigeria's airport, Enyimba's players only followed measures when they appeared on TV," Pyramids FC Football Director Hani Said told a television programme.
"We underwent PCR tests when we arrived at Cairo International Airport then I tested positive alongside other players," he added.
"13 coronavirus cases were detected and the number of infected cases could increase," the Saeid warned.
Pyramids FC revealed that the Egyptian Football Association is waiting for the next PCR tests to postpone Wednesday's game against Smouha at the Egypt Cup.
