Zamalek forward Mahmoud Abdel-Razek ‘Shikabala’ has been suspended after angrily reacting to team manager Hassan Shehata's decision to substitute him just over an hour into the game.
Pitch-side television cameras caught the 26-year-old forward telling the former Egypt boss, "I’m fed up of you; if you don’t want me then let me go."
"The management has decided to suspend Shikabala until receiving the game report from the coach," read a statement on Zamalek's official website.
Zamalek's Vice-President Sabri Serag reiterated the online statement in a televised interview with Modern Sport TV channel.
"The management won't accept a player's behaviour like this against the coach," Serag said, "Any player who makes the same mistake will be punished according to the team's principles."
The Whites' most talented player Shikabala also has been temporarily banned from the Egypt's national team camp in Morocco, following his angry outburst.
