After the 2-2 draw with 10-man Pyramids FC in the Egyptian Premier League late on Thursday, Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane announced that he will do his best to defend the title, confirming the Red Devils have the best goalkeeper in Egypt.

"We played against 10-player Pyramids FC and we failed to dominate the game so we have to agree with the results and work hard to just avoid mistakes," Mosimane told the post game's press conference.

"I spoke with the players after the game and told them that it's a test for the team's character, so we have to escape the result and continue fighting for the Egyptian Premier League title," the South African coach added.

The defending champions were punished, especially in the second half, which saw the visitors play with 10 players after the dismissal of defensive midfielder Nabil “Dunga” Emad just before the break.

Pyramids FC opened the score in the 47th minute, but substitute winger Hussein El-Shahat leveled the score three minutes later and Mahmoud “Kahraba” Abdel-Moneim added the second nine minutes from time.

Ahly keeper Mohamed El-Shennawi committed a fatal mistake in the final minutes of his side's game against Pyramids FC, allowing Eric Traore to score in his empty net on Thursday.

The international keeper failed to control the ball after a pass from defender Rami Rabia, allowing the Burkinabe forward to score in an empty net.

"We have the best goalkeeper in Egypt," Mosimane said, adding "El-Shennawi has helped us in many games and we have to just accept mistakes happen in all games with big players,"

Ahly are now third on the league table with 42 points, 19 behind leaders Zamalek, with the defending champions having seven matches in hand.
