Zamalek will continue their mission for the Egyptian Premier League title, facing Ittihad of Alexandria in the 29 round on Tuesday, with fears of dropping points against the fifth place on the table.
The White Knights are in a fierce race against rivals Ahly for the title, as both teams have the same number of points, but the Reds have the head-to-head advantage.
French coach Patrice Carteron refreshed his squad for the game by including two important key players: Youssef ‘Obama’ Ibrahim and Emam Ashour, who was participating with Egypt’s U-23 national team in the Tokyo Olympics.
Carteron also decided to exclude full back Ahmed Fatouh from the Ittihad game squad list due to disciplinary reasons, as it was reported that he left the latest team’s camp without the coach’s permission.
On the other side, Ittihad is not expected to be the weak side of the game, as they are now in fifth place, and possess good players in great form, such as ex-Zamalek Ahmed Refaat and Ammar Hamdi, in addition to their veteran coach Hossam Hassan, as they did not lose in the last four matches, equalising in a single game against Ghazl El-Mahalla.
Zamalek settled the last game between the two clubs with two clean goals in the first leg match in the Egyptian Premier League.
