Ahly will welcome back the league's leading scorer Mohamed Sherif when they face Gouna on Tuesday as the title fades away from the Egyptian Premier League title holders with only two matches left on the season.
The Reds are trailing leaders Zamalek by four points with the White Knights only in need of a victory also on Tuesday against the already-relegated El-Entag El Harby to kick off the celebrations.
Sherif, who leads league's scorers with 19 goals so far in the season, missed the team's last two matches against Talae El-Gaish and Masry due to injury and his absence had not gone unoticed.
Meanwhile, Ahly announced that Moroccan defender Badr Benoun has recovered from a long COVID-19 bout, will not be included in next two games’ squad due to molar pain.
Ahly's squad list will also witnesses the return of Karim ‘Nedved’ Walid who has missed the last two seasons due to a prolonged injury, while winger Taher Mohamed will miss the game due to an automatic ban after collecting a third yellow card against Masry on Friday.
Gouna are in 12th place with 37 points while Ahly are second with 72 points.
