Preview: Ahly, Zamalek to make final show in Premier League against Aswan and NBE Club

Ahly and Zamalek coaches are is expected to rest their regular players when they take on Aswan and NBE Club in the final matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Friday as the Whites have already secured the title.

Zamalek secured the 2020-21 league title on Tuesday after beating El-Entag El-Harbi 2-0, securing 79 points, six points more than runners-up Ahly.

NBE president Ashraf Nassar said that his players will make a guard of honour for the Whites before the game.

“We have done it before when we faced Ahly after their return from Morocco with the African Champions League tite,” Nassar told Filgoal sports website.

From his side Zamalek president Hussein Labib revealed that the club will postpone the league celebration ceremony.

“I’ve decided to postpone the celebration due to the number of Egyptian and foreign players who will join their national teams,” Labib told Filgoal.

“The postponement because the ceremony is basically for the players who made the achievement along with the technical staff. The celebration ceremony date will be announced later,” he added.

Zamalek automatically became the league champions after defeating El-Entag El-Harby on Tuesday, after a wonderful season that ended with a worthy 13th league title.

On the other side, Ahly will host Aswan at Al-Salam stadium in the final matchday of the Egyptian Premier League on Friday after losing their hopes of keeping the domestic title for the sixth time.
