The draw for the new season of the Egyptian Premier League that was due to take place on Tuesday has been postponed indefinitely, the Egyptian Football Association (EFA) announced on Monday.
The EFA revealed the decision in a short statement without disclosing the reason behind the postponement, adding that the draw’s new date will be determined later.
The Egyptian league’s previous season ended on Saturday, with the EFA currently in discussions with officials from various clubs regarding their suggestions for the new season.
Champions Zamalek, who clinched their first league title since 2015, concluded their triumphant league campaign with a 1-1 draw against NBE club on Friday, while runners-up and rivals Ahly snatched a stoppage-time 2-1 victory over relegated Aswan.
