Aswan SC announced the transfer of defender Mahmoud Shabana to Zamalek on Thursday, marking the White Knights’ second signing in the current transfer market.

“Aswan SC’s board, headed by Ahmed Soliman, is announcing that after consultations with the Football Committee and the technical director and studying the submitted offers, Zamalek Club’s official offer to buy Mahmoud Shabana has been approved,” read a statement on Aswan SC’s official Facebook page.

“This comes after negotiations that took place during the past two days between the officials of our club and Zamalek, and after taking into account the player’s opinion and desire, Zamalek’s offer was accepted,” the statement added.

Shabana participated in 30 games with the southern club — which was relegated to the second division — in the Egyptian Premier League, finishing six games with clean sheets.

The Whites have also announced on Monday the signing of former Masry forward Omar Kamal Abdel-Wahed for three seasons in a free transfer.
