Zamalek have officially requested to sign veteran midfielder Abdallah Said from Pyramids FC, according to club President Hussein Labib

The club has taken the “proper and legitimate” path of action to sign Said, Laib told the On Time Sports TV channel.

The Egypt international Said, 36, has been playing with Pyramids FC since 2019 after spending 9 years with Ahly.

“Said expressed a clear desire to play for Zamalek,” said Labib, adding that the club has yet to receive any response to the official offer from the Pyramids.

Labib also said that the club has yet to close the deal signing Tunisian right fullback Hamdi Nagguez, adding assurances that the current temporary committee that directs Zamalek will only do whatever is good for the club on the technical, financial and administrative levels.

Labib, who hasbeen the head of Zamalek’s second temporary committee after the sacking of former president Mortada Mansour, added that  “we will hand over the club to the elected board on 25 November. There is no term preventing us from running for the elections, but I have not made my decision to enter the elections yet.”

In the current transfer market, the Whites have signed Masry winger Omar Kamal and Aswan SC defender Mahmoud Shabana.
