Wydad Casablanca president Said Naciri played down reports linking Walid El-Karti with a move to the Egyptian Premier League, stressing that his side had not received any offer for the midfielder.
Cairo giants Zamalek and big-spending Pyramids FC are widely reported to have shown an interest in the 27-year-old, who shone with Wydad as they won the Moroccan league last season.
Zamalek are looking for a replacement for Tunisian midfielder Ferjani Sassi, who joined Qatari side Al-Duhail while Pyramids FC are seeking to strengthen their midfield.
"There is no agreement with Zamalek or Pyramids FC concerning Walid El-Karti departure," Naciri told Moroccan newspaper Mountakhab on Sunday.
"We promised the player to give him the chance to play abroad but on condition that he receives a lucrative offer that suits the big name of the player and the club.
"We will not sanction his departure unless we find a player who boasts the same capabilities," he added.
El-Karti joined Wydad in 2013, scoring 26 goals and providing 33 assists in 273 appearances.
He made headlines when he scored the winner against Ahly in the final of the CAF champions League in 2017.
