Egyptian duo Pyramids and Masry will be looking to make up for disappointing away draws when they host Tanzania's Azam and Uganda's Revenue Authority respectively in the second preliminary round of the African Confederation Cup on Saturday.

Both sides labored on the road in the first legs, failing to mount threats in two dull 0-0 draws.

Pyramids, who are making their third appearance in Africa's secondary club competition, host Azam in a 21:00 (19:00 GMT) kick-off at their Air Defence venue in Cairo.

"We are hoping to score an early goal that would make things easier for us," said Pyramids coach Ihab Galal.

The Emirati-owned club reached the final in 2020 but lost to Morocco's RS Berkane 1-0. They were the victims of another Moroccan outfit a year later, slumping to a shootout defeat by Raja in the semi-final following a 0-0 aggregate draw.

Masry, who are based in Port Said, meet Revenue Authority in the Mediterranean city of Alexandria at 19:00 (17:00 GMT).

Tunisian coach Moine Chaabani, a two-time African Champions League winner with Esperance, will be eyeing his first win at the helm after his debut ended in a bore stalemate.

Masry took part in the Confederation Cup for four straight years (2017-20), reaching the semi-final in 2018 and the quarters on their last participation in 2020.
