The Cairo giants ensured a place at the competition's group stage for a seventh straight season after hammering USGN 6-1 for a 7-2 aggregate victory.
"I am happy with the result. I expected to score five goals and we scored six," Mosimane told Ahly TV channel on Sunday morning.
Last week, Ahly were held to a surprise 1-1 draw in the first leg of the preliminary round in Niami.
The holders ended the first half in Saturday's game with a 2-1 lead, before ensuring a comprehensive victory by adding four more goals after the break.
"I wasn't satisfied with the performance as we lost many scoring chances in the first half," the 57-year old Ahly coach explained.
"Failure isn't an option for my team. Players should concentrate more," he added.
The Red Devils joined Cairo rivals Zamalek in the group stage as they eye a third consecutive Champions League title and a record-extending 11th crown.
Ahly will open their Egyptian Premier League's new season campaign when they face rivals Ismaily on Wednesday.
