Obama missed Zamalek's 2-0 victory over Talae El-Geish in their second Egyptian Premier League game on Sunday due to a minor hamstring muscle complaint.
Reports said he was doubtful for the Cairo derby but Zamalek confirmed he would be fit to take part in the game.
Obama was one of Zamalek's key performers in their triumphant league campaign last season, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists.
He started this season by scoring twice in the White Knights' 4-0 drubbing of Kenya's Tusker in the African Champions League second preliminary round last month.
Zamalek are joint leaders of the league table after two wins from two games, level on six points with Ahly and Pyramids FC.
