Ahmed Hossam to sign for Zamalek on Friday

Zamalek Chairman Galal Ibrahim has told Al-Ahram that former Ajax Amestrdam striker Ahmed Hossam “Mido” will arrive in Cairo Thursday to sign a deal with the club.

“Mido will pen a three-and-a-half year contract on Friday,” interim Chairman Ibrahim said.

Earlier this week, Zamalek football director Ibrahim Hassan announced the Cairo club reached an agreement with the nomadic striker to rejoin his boyhood club after failing to establish himself at Dutch giants Ajax.

Mido has been training with English second division side Middlesbrough for the past week after terminating his contract with Ajax.

Zamalek, who are looking to increase their firepower upfront, are leading the Egyptian League with 31 points, five ahead of Ismaily and ENPPI and four clear of arch-rivals Ahly.
