MCDR have signed a two-and-a-half year contract with Raja Athletic Moroccan striker Omar Najdi for almost USD 2 million.
Ahly and Zamalek were competing for the Moroccan striker’s signature while his team Raja demanded USD three million to release Najdi in the January transfer window so the Egyptian sides decided to stop their negotiations with star.
The Egyptian league newcomer, MCDR re-opened their talks with the Moroccan side last Saturday and reached an agreement with Raja to get the services of the player for two and a half year against USD 2 millions.
Najdi will gain USD 1.250 million, while Moroccan club Raja will receive USD 850 thousand.
Qatari team Al-Saad have stepped up their interest in landing the Moroccan striker after knowing the deduction of the player’s price, while MCDR snatched the signing before the Qatari side.
The striker led the Moroccan league top scorers with 11 goals in the previous season, and netted 5 goals during the 1st round of the ongoing season.
MCDR are 9 in the Egyptian league table with 17 points.
