“I am the official who signed Carteron in 2019 and I have a well relationship with him since his leading of Wadi Degla,” Mansour told a television programme.
The 51-year-old coach returned to lead Zamalek in March 2021 just a few months after his shock departure to lead Saudi Arabia's Al-Taawon.
He became Zamalek's fan favourite after making a fine impact with the Whites, helping the team win the 2020-21 Egyptian Premier League title after winning the last eight games of the final stretch of the season to pull ahead of second-place Ahly with four points and finish with an impressive total of 80.
“There were some problems with Carteron when he left the team before the final game of the CAF Champions League last season moreover his previous about the team’s board affected our relation,” Amir Mortada Mansour said.
Zamalek board members headed by chairman Mortada Mansour returned to the club’s lead after they were suspended by Egypt's Olympic Committee as Administrative Court lifted the ban.
“When I returned to the club, I met with Carteron and dealt with him as there is anything happened,” Amir Said
“I informed him to forget everything as Mortada Mansour asked me to hold a meeting with the French coach to determine his future with the team,” he added.
“I reached an agreement with Carteron to start a new era with the team and I told him he can complete his mission with Zamalek and forget the time he left the team,” he said.
Zamalek last won the domestic competition in 2014-15 season.
Carteron first won over the fans after leading the Whites to win the Egyptian Super Cup and African Super Cup titles in 2019.
Zamalek's interim board has announced a contract extension of Carteron for three more seasons in a step aimed to preserve the team's stability after the 51-year-old tactician helped the team win their first Egyptian Premier League title since 2015 and 13th overall.
Zamalek are temporary leading the Egyptian Premier League teams’ table with 19 points, one point over rivals Ahly who played two games less.
