Pyramids claimed a full mark of nine points from their opening three matches, having beaten Libya's Ahli Tripoli, Zambian side Zanaco and Tunisian giants CS Sfaxien.

The dark horse Pyramids FC will face CS Sfaxien in the fourth round of Group A games at Tunisia’s Stade Taieb Mhiri on Sunday as they aim to cement their lead in the group.

Big-spending club Pyramids recently suffered from their 3-0 defeat to African champions Ahly in the Egyptian Premier League on Tuesday to place second in the domestic competition’s table with 26 points from 11 games, two behind leaders Ahly, who have a game in hand.

Sfaxien are likely to provide the stiffest test yet to Pyramids, who are hoping to win Africa's secondary club competition on their third appearance, having reached the final in 2020 and the semis last year.

The Tunisian team are third in Group A ranking with three points and they need a victory to keep their hopes of reaching the quarterfinals alive.

Fellow Egyptian side Masry are also aiming to advance their position in Group C ranking when they host Otôho d'Oyo of Congo also on Sunday.

Masry are in the third place with four points, sharing the same number of points with second placed Otôho d'Oyo, two points behind leaders TP Mazembe of DR Congo, so the game is expected to be tough mission for the two teams who aim to secure a place in the next round.
