Egypt’s FA urges CAF to hold Champions league finals in neutral venues

The Egyptian Football Association (EFA) has urged in a letter the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to hold the final of both the Champions League and the Confederation Cup on neutral venues to "ensure equality" between different teams, according to and EFA statement Saturday.

Holders Ahly will host Algeria’s ES Setif in the semifinal's 1st leg of the Champions league on 7 May while the second leg will be played away from home on 14 May.

The other semifinal match in the CLwill be between Morocco's Wydad Casablanca and Angola's Petro Atletico.

Egypt duo Masry and Pyramids FC recently eliminated from the Confederation Cup quarters after losing to RS Berkane of Morocco and DR Congo’s TP Mazembe, respectively.

Meanwhile, Egyptian Premier League leaders Zamalek was eliminated from the group stage of the African Champions League.
