Ahly goalie Mohamed El-Shennawi is expected to miss the game on Saturday against Enppi in the Egyptian Premier League after leaving the match against NBE Club on Wednesday due to muscle injury.

The Reds’ skipper has been substituted in Ahly’s draw against NBE Club 60 minutes into the game after complaining from a muscle injury.

South African coach Pitso Mosimane is expected to give El-Shennawi some rest to fully recover from his injury before the anticipated Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League, scheduled for 30 May in Morocco against Wydad Casablanca.

Ahly are already struggling owing to injuries. They played the Wednesday game without their midfield main pillars Amr Solaya, Aliou Dieng, and Hamdi Fathi, in addition to the Tunisian full back Ali Maaloul.

The Red Devils, who are seeking to wrestle the title back from arch rivals Zamalek, are third in the table with 34 points in 15 games. Zamalek top the table with 41 points in 19 games and Pyramids are second with 39 points in 18 matches.
