Veteran Ahly goalkeeper Mohamed El-Shennawi announced that his team is well prepared for the game against Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca in the CAF Champions League final on Monday regardless of the fans’ attendance or the home advantage.

“The Champions League final will be a difficult game against a team that we faced before and we know well that they are a tough opponent,” El-Shennawi told a pre-game press conference on Sunday.

The Red Devils are one step away from becoming the first team in Africa to win a hat-trick of successive Champions League crowns when they face Wydad at their Mohammed V Stadium in a one-off final on Monday.

“We are happy by reaching the final and we will do our best to achieve the victory,” the Ahly goalie said.

“I do not concentrate on the number of fans here in Morocco as we only focus on playing our football and I hope to return home with the trophy to please our supporters,” El-Shennawi added.

Instead, they will only concentrate on the coming game and their goal, winning the trophy, that had remained unchanged since the beginning of the tournament, the Ahly goalie said.

“We prepared well for the game against Wydad and I wish [for] good luck during the game,” the Ahly skipper added.
