“Enppi already received on Monday an offer to sign Gad for two seasons, but the bid falls short of Enppi’s expectations,” TV presenter Ibrahim Fayek said via OnTime Sports in the early hours of Tuesday.
Wigan have been in talks with Enppi for weeks but before submitting their first offer which is a loan deal with a buy-out clause, according to the report.
The 23-year-old Gad came in the spotlight this season after delivering fine displays with the petroleum club, featuring as the first choice keeper in 18 matches out of 30 played so far.
One major obstacle for making him eligible to obtain a work permit in the UK is that Gad has not played any games for the Egyptian national team, despite being part of the Pharaohs squad in the last Nations Cup.
Signing Gad by Wigan and sending him out again on loan, whether to Enppi or any other club, could be a solution for this problem according to a recent statement by the player’s agent.
Enppi currently lie in ninth place on the Egyptian Premier League club table with 35 points, 34 behind leaders Zamalek.
